21st Annual NALC Food Drive: Union Volunteers Needed

Does your local value community service? Do you have a couple hours on Saturday to help out for a great cause? 

If you answered yes to both of these questions, please commit to volunteering this Saturday and be a part of the world’s largest one day food drive!

This year’s NALC food drive will be on Saturday May 11th. Our goal is to get back to  80,000lbs of food collected, which was our 2010 level. All of the food is ultimately donated to the River Bend Food bank and then distributed to tens of thousands of Quad City area families who are struggling to provide enough food for their families.

The need is greater than ever before, and the supply is not keeping up. With your help, we can achieve a record breaking year and help thousands of families have adequate meals.

The information for volunteering is listed below.
Please email or call specifically with what shift you’d like to work, and what location you’d like to work at. Email or call 309-738-6536. 
Volunteer shifts:
11am-3pm (1st Shift)
3pm-6pm (2nd shift)
12-4 (Optional 3rd shift)*
1st Shift volunteers will be needed to follow postal workers on routes to pick up food. Folks with trucks, vans, and large vehicles are encouraged to volunteer for the 1st shift
2nd Shift volunteers will be needed at the postal facility to box up food and assist in loading up on pallets to be placed in semi-trailers via fork truck.
*3rd shift volunteers are assigned as needed per location needs
